Grand Marshal (GM)
So, I joined Senate because I like working on projects to help people and trying to improve the RPI experience for myself and others.
I’ve been on senate since my freshman year and really enjoy the work we do trying to make RPI a better place
Fun Fact: I’m allergic to sesame seeds.
I have been a student at RPI since 2010, receiving my bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology in 2013. I am continuing my education at RPI as part of the BS/PhD program in Biochemistry and Biophysics with expected graduation in spring 2017. Over my years here I became a brother of the Delta Phi Fraternity and have been involved in student government. From 2011-2013 I was a member of the Union Judicial Board serving as its chairman in 2012. This is my first year on the Student Senate and I hope to make a positive impact on Student Government through the Rules and Elections committee.

Hello, my name is Erica and this is my first year as a Class of 2017 Senator. I love RPI, and am excited to help make it the best it can be. I can’t wait to spend my senior year being as involved in the RPI community as possible! If you ever have any questions or concerns that you want addressed, shoot me an email and I’ll do everything I can to help you out.
I’m passionate about ensuring that every student at RPI is represented and has a voice in student government.
Richard is a computer science and business management student in the class of 2018 who aspires to be a successful entrepreneur one day. He is currently building a startup that teaches high school students entrepreneurship and mentors them in business plan competitions. He is also very involved with RPI TV and serves the RPI community by providing high quality livestreams and on demand content for athletics games, cultural performances, and musical productions. In his free time, he likes to ballroom dance competitively and juggle with the RPI Juggling and Unicycling club.
In my past two years on Senate, I’ve worked on the Mall Shuttle, Research Directory, On-campus Pharmacy, and Syllabus Site projects, among others. I’m looking forward to serving my third term representing the Class of 2018.
I joined the Student Senate because I wanted to make an impact on RPI and it’s community, as I hope to improve RPI and make it as great as can be. I am doing this so that years after I graduate, I can come back to RPI and see what I have done having a positive impact on the campus, but also to see my ideas improve upon to allow RPI to become even better.
Hello! My name is Nancy and this is my second year as a Class of 2019 Senator. I have worked on projects such as the refillable water bottle stations being installed across campus and am excited to begin other personal projects this year. If you have any questions or ideas, please contact me and I would be happy to talk them out with you!
Hello! I’m a sophomore from Pennsylvania. I play the saxophone and enjoy mountain biking. When I’m not working on a WebTech project, you can usually find me photographing events around campus for The Poly.

Hi I’m Jennie, I’m really bad at talking about myself. I know way more about parliamentary procedure than any human being ever needs to know.
After being a member of the Facilities and Services Committee and Greek Life since freshman year, Marvin joined the Senate to better serve the RPI community, work on meaningful projects, and represent the needs of the Greek community. Marvin has worked on several projects, such as the Online Classroom Assessment Tool and Picnic Table Project.
Tianyi (Edward) Qiao
Hi Everyone! As chair of the Facilities and Services Committee, I am responsible for projects dealing with transportation, safety, and other general facilities concerns. Last year I headed the Water Bottle Filling Stations project and love working on projects dealing with sustainability. Outside of Senate, I spend excessive amounts of time in lab playing with bacteria and watch a lot of Netflix.
In my free time (ha ha what is that, even?) I like to sleep. I also like to see how many emails I can ignore from our GM before he notices. Obviously, this one turned out well.
I joined Senate to make a difference in the RPI community. I have participated in a number of high-profile projects with large impacts on campus. One of the projects I’m most passionate about is long-term meal plan recommendations that HSAC (the Hospitality Services Advisory Committee) is working on.
